[Orlando, Florida, 07/17/2024] Donald Harold Schuh’s compelling new book, “Get the Hell Out of There!”, takes readers on an unforgettable journey through the history of the USS Helena CL50 and USS Houston CL81 during World War II. This meticulously researched and vividly written account offers a unique perspective on the war, drawing from Schuh’s personal experiences and extensive research.

Schuh, the youngest of three children, dedicates this work to his father, Harold Thomas Schuh, and his mother, Billie Burnell Schuh, whose lives and sacrifices during the war years of 1942 to 1945 are poignantly chronicled. The book provides an intimate look at the profound impact of the war on both the home front and the battlefield, capturing the essence of the era’s challenges and triumphs.

Readers will follow the journeys of the USS Helena and USS Houston, experiencing key battles, life aboard the ships, and the personal stories of the sailors who served. The book includes vivid descriptions of major events such as the Battle of Pearl Harbor, the Battle of Guadalcanal, and the sinking of the USS Wasp. Schuh’s narrative is enriched with personal anecdotes, letters, and documents that bring the history to life.

In addition to the historical narrative, Schuh has designed the book with interactive activities for children, aiming to enhance their learning experience, improve motor skills, and foster cognitive development.

“Get the Hell Out of There!” is more than a historical account; it is a tribute to the bravery and resilience of the Greatest Generation. It is a must-read for history enthusiasts, veterans, and anyone interested in the human stories behind the monumental events of World War II.

The book will be available soon on Amazon globally.
